{ FREEBIE: Treat Bag Topper Printables }

I made these guys today.

They fit standard lunch baggies, because fancy lil treat bags are too expensive for my taste.

I used regular sized baggies, but I think they’ll fit snack baggies. They are the same width, just shorter, yes?

You can staple them right at the top, or fold over part of the bag and then staple.

The princess one is stapled right at the top. The space baggie I folded over.

This is a standard page size, 8.5x11.

You’ll need to print these on cardstock. You can use photo paper as well, but it’s much more spendy, so I don’t know why you’d want to do that.

Unless you are trapped in your house with a rabid bear outside your door.

I’m not sure why you’d be worried with making treat bags though.

May you’d toss it to the bear?

This seems totally plausible.

I did this set as a tribute to my friend Meg's amazing, gorgeous George who is Autistic. Or rather a 'banner' if you will. I did that on purpose b/c so many blinkies in a sig line blinking at different paces could give some one a seizure!

Welcome to 2009 everyone! We had a WILD party at our house on NYE. It was myself, DH, the kid, my niece, and 4 Sr. Citizen’s! LOL! We always have fun tho, playing games and such. My parents were here along w/ my MIL and GMIL! We were SUCH party animals. See below.

This year at DSP we have started what we like to call a Scrapolution. We have many new things happening at our site as we enter our 5th year of operation. We hope that you come along on our journey into this new and exciting time! My Scrapolution Goals? 75 layouts and 40 kits. That’s kits, I have no goal for other things like word art and such, I’ll just make as much as I can pump out!

One new thing at DSP this year is that we are offering our downloads in 200 AND 300 ppi. This applies to products made in the last couple months and upcoming products as well. We hope that this pleases all of the digital scrapbookers! 200 for great printing and small file size or 300 for great printing and large file size.

That said, my freebies here will now be posted at 300ppi. They are small little tidbits usually, so they won’t be too large for anyone’s HD. They will easily size down in your program too. I hope this doesn’t disappoint anyone.

Well, that’s weird looking (and other cool stuff)

that's what my new vacuum is! I went shopping again today after seeing Bedtime Stories, which, fyi, is quite good and funny for a kids movie! I was on the search for a Bissell Floormate for my hardwood floors. I have 500 sq feet of hardwood, plus a utility and 2 baths with vinyl. I need a hardfloor cleaner thats not a mop and more powerful than a swiffer wetjet! I didn't find the floormate.. boohoo. I've read its not good for vacuuming anyway, but great on cleaning. I happened upon this weird thing at walmart. Its a Bissell Versus hardfloor vacuum. Um... yay!?! My floors are always covered in something and I find myself sweeping them about 3x a week. Uhhhhhhhhh no fun??? So, I bought it! Brought it home and vacuumed up a bunch of muck! I just swept a couple days ago. It's a little weird to start with its V shaped head, but i got the hang of it. Now I just need my Floormate to clean it!

And in case you are wondering, I did NOT spend Christmas money on this! Uh. no.

On that note, I forgot to show you some cool pressies i got.

My MIL made me this super cool purse. Looks like jeans, huh? Well, that's cuz it is! It is made from a pair of my kids old levis. How cool is that???

And this hand tooled leather wallet is from my FIL. He is just 3 months out from brain surgery from a condition call Essential Tremor which manifests like Parkinson's with the shaking. The surgery, which they inserted probes in his brain and a pacemaker type device in his chest, controls the tremors. Before he could barely pour creamer into his coffee and stir... now he's very steady! Awesome. Anyway... the new one is on the left. The old one he made a few years back, but the zipper broke and he couldn't fix that alone. See how gorgeous they get as they age???

I just wanted to share my unique pressies with you all and show you how talented my inlaws are!

And by the shoutin' I mean the "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" drill.

My holiday was hectic, hurried, busy, fun, happy, busy, tiring, wonderful, and did I mention busy?

Yeah.

I'm sure yours was the same.

My friend told me 3 days before Christmas that her daughter got up at 4 am last year (she was 10 at the time). I said, if my kid got up that early, I'd send him straight back to bed. Well, payback's a... um... you know what.

Kid did NOT get up that early. If he had, I WOULD have sent him straight back to bed. It wasn't my kid. It wasn't DH. It surely wasn't me... It was Lulu. The puppy. DH leaves for work just after 5 am. He lets her out each day at that time, so she's used to getting up. Normally, after being let out, she'll go back to her cage and sleep. NOT the case on Christmas morn! I got up, at 4:41 am- no, I'm NOT joking, and let her out. She went, came back in, I put her back in her cage and then was treated to an hours worth of yipping, yowling, crying, and howling.

At 5:30 I gave up and let her out. At 6:00- i was still awake, of course, b/c she can't be w/o a human, so she was crawling all over us in bed. Jingle was up there too, and they fought, played, nipped, and generally drove me nuts- Oh.. I digress. At 6:00 I got up and went to shut the kid's bathroom door (it's a jack n jill bath from his room to the family room). When I did that, he said "HI" and scared the poo outta me (um... not literally- tho I was standing inside the bathroom at the time of the poo scaring). I asked how long he'd been up, and he said since Lulu starting yowling. Asked why he didn't get up, he said b/c I told him it was too early and he'd set his alarm at the "mom oked time of 6:30). I told him to go ahead and get up! He ripped into his pressies and loved them all. He even loved the jammies from Christmas Eve.

The grandparents came at about 9 am for brekkie, and then pressies with part of them (the other part of them we open pressies with at night).

I put the ginormo ham in at 10 am and baked and cooked and vegged til the others arrived for supper. That was my side of the fam. Pressies and food with them, and.......... then.......... shew. Just us. Quiet time. lol.

I got mostly cash for Christmas (um..yay) so I treated myself to new barstools and a new stand for the tv in our front room. Yesterday DH installed under the cabinet lights for me in the kitchen. nice too! I also got a cappuccino machine from my parent's... um...... yummers!

Here's a pic of my barstools and tv stand. Now the TV stand was a problem for us. We didn't want anything super big, so we'd been using a bookshelf! This one was just the right size. Our front (living room) isn't large, so size ...uh...matters! Our family room is hugemongo.. so no problem there. Have the big ole TV in it and all that jazz. Not important.. sorry...

Movie Review: Four Christmases

I did manage a little girl time with some friends on Saturday to go out for dinner and see Four Christmases.

With the star power of Reese Witherspoon, Vince Vaughn headlining and with co stars like Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, Jon Voight, Mary Steenburgen, Kristin Chenoweth, Dwight Yochum and Tim McGraw, I guess I expected more.

*Aside.. I AM a movie snob. I'm hard to please.*

Now, the movie which features the couple of Brad (Vaughn) and Kate (Witherspoon) as Christmas skippers (aka jetting off on a vacation while lying to the families) who get caught, is actually pretty funny. For a while. Then the movie gets long and tired. I will admit, that more than once I laughed out loud, but that does not to me a good movie make.

You've got "all kinds" in this family. Kate and Brad both come from divorced homes, so in all they have to celebrate Christmas at four different houses. There's the redneck side of the family, that would be Brad's father & brothers. The hippy side, Brad's mother. The prim and proper- Kate's mother and sister. And the 'normal, but quite well off from the house they celebrated in'- Kate's father.

Some contrived and stupid plot lines intersect with some honest to goodness funny moments to make a Christmas that is more about avoiding family and less about the holiday itself.

I didn't hate this movie, but I surely didn't love it. It was ok. Wish I'd Netflixed it rather than paying ticket price. It was still a fun night out with the girls tho!

This is no Holiday Classic in the making, but is ok for a rental.

No, I haven't been without access or without power, thank goodness, it's just been a jam pack-a-dity week! Family for Thanksgiving lunch, family for thanksgiving Dinner, family the day after Thanksgiving, putting up the decorations, and Christmas shopping. Not to mention all the baking and cooking! Oy! But it's all over now, until the Christmas parties and celebrations begin!

Movie Review: Twilight

Ok, I'm sooo behind in movie reviews, so I'm just starting with my most recent and going forward.

I was SO excited to see Twilight this past Friday. I'm a huge fan of the books, and have "infected" a ton of people with the Twilight bug. I've followed the movie progress closely, having feeds to MTV movie blog (they have a "Twilight Tuesday" posting each week) and Stephenie Meyer's blog. When I found out they'd cast RPattz (Robert Pattinson) in the role, I wasn't thrilled, but I was willing to give him a chance. Kristen Stewart was not exactly who I pictured as Bella. I pictured her more girly, and less tomboy, not girly girly tho! LOL! Great casting, imho, Emmet (Kellan Lutz), Carlisle (Peter Facinelli), and Alice (Ashley Greene). Also good, Taylor Lautner as Jacob.

I went into the movie with less than high expectations and came out with less than rave reviews. Now, don't get me wrong, I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it...yet. My friend Stephanie didn't love it her first viewing, but DID the 2nd. Clearly, I need another fix of Twilight. Less the sold out theater full of screaming teens preferably!

Here were my issues.

They stayed pretty close to the book (uh, not the issue), but at times I felt as tho they were making the movie into a caricature of these beloved books. The lines were right, but they came out wrong. Things that were supposed to be totally serious were nearly (or literally) laughable.

Jasper. Oh, Jasper. Jasper freaked me out. I've heard 3 people say "Edward Scissorhands" now. I agree. I didn't see that in the movie, but I do now! He was just WEIRD. I think, had they given the boy lines, it wouldn't have been so bad. Instead he stood in the background with his lips gorilla glued together looking a tad constipated.

Not enough family time. There just wasn't enough Cullen time. It was basically Edward and Bella all the time. Now, I know that the book is about Edward and Bella, but there were some scenes that were painfully long with them, that would have better been filled with a good Emmet quip, Esme hug, or Alice vision.

Sparkling. I'm not sure what I expected Edward to look like when he 'sparkled' in the sun, but that was weird.

S L O W............. The movie moved (ha) slow!!!

Coloring. It reminded me of the Prisoner of Azkaban in color. I know Forks is the rainiest place in the US, but the blue tint of the movie drove me nuts. I wanted someone to fix the color cast on the screen.

Ok, fine that last one was petty.

My fav lines cut, even tho there was the perfect time for it. "Do I dazzle you?" "Frequently". I WAS glad they kept the Port Angeles/Resturant scene however. I'm nit picking now.

While I'm there tho... Summit, you've just made 72.5 million dollars in 3 days. Get a better special effects team. I hear Industrial Light and Magi c can do some decent effects. lol.

However...

RPattz surprised me. He needs to work on the American accent, but I was happier with him than I thought. He's still not quite the picture of Edward that lives in my head, but he's alright. Want to see the picture that lives in my head...? Ok, if you insist.

The movie, like I said at the beginning, stays pretty true to the books.

Rosalie, tho not as pretty as I thought she should be (not that she isn't pretty, but Rosalie is supposed to be drop dead gorgeous, prettiest woman people have ever seen), was perfectly nasty.

Victoria was good.

Ummmmmmmm....... the tone of the movie was right, it was the execution I think.

I'm willing to give it another go. Perhaps I was expecting too much? Expecting WB's Harry Potter visuals??? I plan to see it again, maybe my rating will change.

I WANT to give this movie 5 kernels, but I can't. It gets 3.5. Keyword here, LIKED. Not loved.

For now. I'll let you know if that changes :D

When I'm all settled and popcorned at Twilight, I'm sure I'll be ok. I'll only cry a little.

ANYWAY, back to why you all are here (what? you don't come for my random, useless orations???? why noooooooot?? *pouts*)... Just follow the yellow brick road, and I'll eventually come to a point..or my point? some point??? or so you hope!

Meeting Luna Rosa

Well, we went to look at the pups today to be sure that the one we picked out via photo was the one we wanted. We ended up coming home with her! We thought we needed to wait another week, but she is totally weened. She's also totally weensy!!! Just 5 1/2 weeks old, but she is now here to stay.

Jingle is accepting for the most part. I can't think she is totally thrilled, but she's ok with it. Fairley (the cat) is pouting. He's a big pouter (as in he hides). He pouted for 2 weeks when we got Jingle, pouted for 3 days when we moved and pouted for about 3 days when we got Arnold (cat) who lives OUTSIDE! Such a baby.

Anyway.. here is a cute pic of Jingle Bella and Luna Rosa getting to know one another.

Over The Rainbow layout

I took the pic of this rainbow last week. It was the brightest, most amazing rainbow I've ever seen in my life. You could even see the end! For this layout I used 2 of the pics and blended together. The pic of my kiddo walking toward the rainbow just didn't come across in a layout.

Amazing Rainbow I caught

I've never seen a rainbow as bright as the one I saw tonight. I've also never seen the end of the rainbow! It was amazing. one of the coolest things I've seen in ages. These photos can't do it justice!!!! Wish I had a wide angle lens to get it all. It stayed out for the longest time too, probably 20 mins or more. You can see the sky gets darker in some of the pics!

Hello and Happy Halloween! We had a Trunk or Treat last night and I went to pass out candy as Nymphadora Tonks. My kid, now 11, I said was too big to go. Am I a kill joy or WHAT? He actually handed out all the candy at the Trunk or Treat and really enjoyed himself. He still dressed up, as Ron Weasley. I was amazed at how many of his classmates and friends were there. Maybe he *isn't* too old? Ah well, he didn't mind! No, really, he didn't!

Here's a new pic of our Luna Rose/Rosa from the breeder! She's now 14 days old :) Will be coming home on Nov. 21. Innit she cuuuuuuuuuute?????? She's now looking less rat, more dog!
